LEONARDO DA VINCI SPACE ARTS AWARDS II

In honor of the great artist and scientist whose visions of flight inhabits our minds and whose first observations of light reflected from the Moon gave reverberant and reflective deep-space consciousness to us. 
 
These honors were first awarded during the proceedings of the Space Arts Track of the 25th International Space Development Conference that was held in Los Angeles in 2006. The award sponsors included: Co-Sponsored by the National Space Society, the Planetary Society, the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at the College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University and the Zero Gravity Arts Consortium. These awards were instituted in 2006 by Lowry Burgess, Frank Pietronigro, Track Co-Chairs and George Whitesides, Conference Chair and Director or the National Space Society. Co-Sponsored by the National Space Society, the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at the College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, Leonardo, The International Society of Arts, Science and Technology and the Zero Gravity Arts Consortium.

Nominations were made leading up to and during the proceedings of ISAW4, The International Space Arts Workshop sponsored by Taksha University, the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at the College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University and the Zero Gravity Arts Consortium. 6 Award Categories: Lifetime Achievement Awards, Space Arts Organization Awards, Space Arts Advocates Awards, Scholastic and Curatorial Awards, Zero Gravity Arts Awards and Special Space Arts Awards
